Maisa Ziegler is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and former mariner with over 10 years at sea on tugs, containerships, research vessels, and cruise ships. She now specializes in therapy for mariners, shoreside professionals, and their families—offering real support for the mental, emotional, and relational challenges of maritime life.

For over 5 years, Maisa has worked as a licensed therapist specifically serving the maritime community. She has facilitated online support groups for mariners, created practical tools like 30 Days of Wellness for Crews, and written children’s books to help mariner parents stay emotionally connected with their families.

Because Maisa lived this life, she deeply understands the culture, the language, and the unspoken pressures that come with it. Her work not only supports mariners in navigating that reality—but also in progressing the culture itself. Whether it’s building safer leadership, breaking cycles of isolation, or fostering healthy relationships on board and at home, she helps mariners create lives of purpose, connection, and resilience—both at sea and on shore.
